LEGO Rumour Mill: July Roundup
There has been a great deal of LEGO Rumours floating about the interwebs the last couple of days and I thought I might just compile them instead of posting all three individually (i’m lazy that way).
As I will always disclaim, these are all heresay till we get the an official word from The LEGO Group so take everything with a bucket of salt.
“LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collectors Edition / Master Builder Mos Eisley Cantina”

It was long rumoured that there would be an update/re-release of the LEGO Star Wars UCS Imperial Shuttle later this year but those rumblings have been replaced with talk of a “LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collectors Edition / Master Builder Mos Eisley Cantina”.
It is still not known if it will be an Ultimate Collectors Series or a Master Builder series (I’m betting on the latter) but I feel that it would feature the Mos Eisley spaceport rather than focus on the cantina itself. 
I’d expect it to be something following the trend of the LEGO Star Wars Betrayal at Cloud City (75222) with sectional vignettes. I just hope that it will not turn out like a superpack of smaller sets like the LEGO Star Wars Assault on Hoth (75098).
“LEGO Hidden Side will retire at the end of the 2020”
LEGO Hidden Side hasn’t exactly made a huge splash like some of their offerings. It has a dedicated fan-base but having to constantly see the sets sporting hefty discounts at the store just goes to show that there is a lot of excess stock to clear.
It is a pity that LEGO Hidden Side wasn’t as well received as planned as some of the sets are really very well designed with amazing ‘hidden’ play features.
“Exclusive SDCC LEGO set”
It has been announced that there will not be any LEGO panels slated for the upcoming virtual San Diego Comic Con but there is chatter of the SDCC LEGO Super Mario Toad’s Special Hideaway (77907).
The price is rumoured to be at USD$19.99 and there is still no word on how it will be distributed. It could go the same way of the LEGO Star Wars Celebration 2019 Darth Vader Bust (75227) that was a Target store exclusive for a limited period of time.
While I’m not overly enthused about the LEGO Star Wars UCS/MBS Mos Eisley set as we’ve seen many iterations over the course of a decade in smaller sets. I’m a bit bummed that LEGO Hidden Side didn’t quite catch on but on the flip side, at least it will be cheaper to finish the collection!
