LEGO Batmobile Rumoured For Q3 2021!

There is a rumour that made its rounds on the interwebs last night and it concerns a certain LEGO Batmobile getting a re-release.

The LEGO Tumbler (76023) is an odd choice for a re-issue as it has only been seven years since its debut so I did a little digging and it seems like we may not get that exact Batmobile come September.

There is a bit of chatter that the actual Batmobile getting the “Adults Welcome” treatment is actually the 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car that roamed the streets of Gotham in the live action Batman television series in the 60’s.

It would make sense to release the first Batmobile in the cape crusader’s stable as it doesn’t get more ‘adult’ than that. Fans have been clamouring for essentially every Batmobile ever to hit pop culture and this iteration is in the top ten favourites of all time (according to Screenrant).

There is also another possibility that this “Ultimate Collectors Series” Batmobile could be the one from the upcoming “The Batman” movie. It was originally slated to be released in June 25, 2021 before it got shifted to next year.

I do find this unlikely as the movie hasn’t established itself yet and there are a lot of other Batmobiles which should get the LEGO makeover. I would love someone at LEGO to tackle the Batmobile from The Animated Series or perhaps the one from the game, Arkham Asylum.

As always, this is pure speculation based on heresay floating about in the rumour soup so take everything with a bucket of salt. That said, would you prefer a brand new Classic ’66 Batmobile or a re-issue and possible recolour of the LEGO Tumbler of 2016?
