The LEGO House (21037) was available for a brief period of time on Shop@Home. They subsequently removed it from the listings and then released a statement saying that it would be back for sale shortly.
Today, LEGO has released another statement clarifying that the LEGO House (21037) set will ONLY be available through Shop@Home in Europe and the LEGO House Tree of Creativity and Dinosaur sets will limited to Denmark, United Kingdom and Ireland.
Which means that if you are not residing in any of those regions with access to Shop@Home, you’re flat out of luck.
While terribly disappointing, it would seem that the reason is that LEGO did not have the legal requirements to distribute those sets around the world as they were always intended to be sold only in Billünd, Denmark.
I guess it is time to tap on some friends (or generous AFOLs) who are living in those regions if you’re really looking to get one of the exclusives.
The LEGO House exclusive sets were produced with the intention of only being sold in the LEGO House Store in Billund, DK. As such, the packaging and building instructions for these sets do not contain the legal requirements necessary for distribution in many other countries around the world. The LEGO House Architecture set will be available in all European countries, while distribution of LEGO House Dinosaurs and LEGO House Tree of Creativity will be limited to Denmark, UK, and Ireland.
Obviously Lego APAC hire someone that does not understand APAC market and hence the decision is made, just like the other Danish brand – Carlsberg, potential and good brand but lacked global perspective.
