Taiwan’s first ever LEGO Certified Store opened on Christmas day (25th of December) at the A13 shopping mall in the Xinyi District of Taipei City.
It is located on the 3rd floor and sports one a huge mosaic that features a the traditional lightling of the sky lantern in Jiufen, a mountain town in northeastern Taiwan.
There were some of the usual store opening promotions like the LEGO Store (40145) set when you spend a minimum of 6000NT (SGD$270) and a couple of the regular promotions that are currently available at other LEGO Certified Stores in Asia.
The Pick-A-Brick (PAB) was retailing for 799NT (SGD$35.98 )for a big cup and the Build-A-Minifigure was going for 349NT (SGD$15.70) for a three minifigure pack.
The store was peppered with a lot of large LEGO sculptures like this oversized cup of bubble (boba) tea along with a brick built Santa minifigure.
There was also a diorama display that featured famous sights like the Red House in Ximen and the National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
This first LEGO Certified Store is long overdue as LEGO has previously been available in Taiwan through Toys ‘R’ Us and other specialty retail shops like Bidbuy4U, Goldbricks and Princessland.
Hope to check this place when I visit Taiwan again! Good hunting everyone!
