Now that most of the LEGO employees have received their LEGO Star Wars Yuletide Squadron Xmas-Wing (4002019), LEGO has released a quartet of featurettes that give us a little insight as to how the idea for the model was conceived.
The first video has LEGO Star Wars Creative Director Jens Kronvold Frederiksen giving us a quick history lesson on the twenty years of LEGO Star Wars.
In the next video, we have Senior LEGO Designer Joseph Patrick Kyde taking us on a behind the scenes look at the X-wing model itself.
The third video has Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen and LEGO Group Chairman Jorgen Vig Knudstorp take the Yuletide Squadron Xmas-Wing out for a spin.
The last video has Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen looking back at the LEGO Star Wars theme when it was first licensed in 1999.
I think these videos are a great complement to the release of the LEGO Star Wars Yuletide Squadron Xmas-Wing (4002019) as it gives a bit of context of why it is significant this year (not to mention the premiere of Episode IX in a few days).
Can’t wait to open my set and build it over the holidays!
