After months of ‘intense’ speculation, LEGO has finally announced the LEGO Star Wars Betrayal at Cloud City (75222)

The LEGO Star Wars Betrayal at Cloud City (75222) is the second D2C Star Wars set for 2018 with the LEGO Star Wars UCS Y-Wing being the first.

The Bespin playset recreates iconic scenes from Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back with a combination of vignettes.

It is split into four sections with one section dedicated to the landing pad with a midi-scale Slave-1.

This is essentially the top half of the LEGO Death Star (75159) playset which was re-released a couple of years back.

But the main attraction for me would be the swath of LEGO minifigures which include: Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker in Bespin outfits, Chewbacca, C-3PO, Lando CalrissianLobot, 2 Cloud City Guards, 2 Cloud Car Pilots, Leia and Han in Hoth outfits, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, 2 Stormtroopers and an Ugnaught, plus R2-D2 and an IG-88 droid.

The majority of the characters have dual face prints and this is the first time we are seeing Princess Leia in her red dinner dress which has really nice detailing.

The playset clocks in at 2,812 pieces which is one of the larger LEGO Star Wars D2c sets released. The recommended retail price is as follows: US $349.99  CA $399.99  DE 349.99€  UK £299.99 – FR 349.99€ – DK 2999DK.

It will be available to LEGO VIP members on September 13th and the public on October 1st.

Betrayal at Cloud City™ (75222)I think it would have been nice to include a midi scaled Millennium Falcon considering that it was the other iconic ship docked on that platform.

Plus, it’s should be time for another midi-scale Falcon to hit the shelves no?
