Meet the Fan Designer of LEGO Ideas Voltron In Singapore And Malaysia!

It has now been officially announced that the Fan Designer for the LEGO Ideas Voltron (21311) will be coming to Singapore and Malaysia for a meet-the-fans and signing session.

Leandro “Lendy” Tayag first submitted his LEGO Ideas project in 2016 and now it has officially been made into an actual LEGO Ideas set!

He will be in Singapore on the 4th of August to have a signing session at the LEGO Certified Store in the NEX shopping mall. The store opens at 10am and he will be on hand to meet the fans and sign your purchased boxes.

Now here is the catch: there are two operators of LEGO Certified Stores in Singapore, The Brick Shop and Bricksworld. LEGO Certified Stores (LCS) are, in essence, the same as LEGO Brand Stores except that they are not wholly owned by the LEGO Group. These stores also do not participate in the LEGO VIP program and thus run their own promotions.

One such promotion is this “meet-the-fan designer” session which is organised by The Brick Shop and thus excludes all LEGO Ideas Voltron (21311) purchased by Bricksworld. Only purchases made through the Brick Shop LEGO Certified Stores qualify for this signing session.

Which basically translates that those who purchased the set through the Bricksworld pre-order yesterday are out of luck. You would need to make another purchase with the Brick Shop LCS to meet Leandro and get your set signed.

Purchase LEGO® Ideas 21311 Voltron set from any of The Brick Shop outlets (NEX, Compass One, Jurong Point) between 1 – 4 August 2018 and get your box signed by the LEGO Fan Designer – Leandro Tayag!

Autograph session will be held at The Brick Shop, NEX, on 4 August 2018.

While unfortunate, this is still a great effort by the Brick Shop to arrange for this event to meet the very first South East Asian LEGO Ideas fan designer to actually see his dreams transformed into reality.

And our Malaysians neighbours need not book your tickets to Singapore just yet as Lendy’s next stop is Kuala Lumpur for a signing session as well! Details are still being firmed up and I will update this article once they are finalised.
