We caught a glimpse of the LEGO Pac-Man arcade machine a couple of weeks ago when an internal marketing flyer was leaked and after a few take-down requests later, LEGO and Bandai Namco are ready with the official announcement!
This marks the first collaboration between the Japanese gaming giant which hopefully would yield more LEGO sets to come!
The set features a scaled down version of the original yellow arcade machine that first debut in the 1980’s by Namco in Japan and licensed to Midway for the American market.
It consists of 2651 pcs and stands at a height of 32cm and has a footprint of 25cm x 17cm. The back panel opens out to reveal a minifigure sized Pac-Man arcade and gumball machine along with a gamer girl minifigure.
The recommended retail price is pegged at USD$269.99 / €269.99 / £229.99/ 349.99 CAD / 399.99 AUD / 6299.9 TRY / 114990.0 HUF / 2299.0 CNY.
The LEGO PAC-MAN Arcade Machine Set 10323 is slated for a June 1st release at LEGO Brand and Certified Stores and June 4th for all other retail outlets.
The LEGO Pac-Man Arcade Machine set is a love letter to the bygone days where we actually had to physically go to a mall to play video games that cost a quarter every time.
This feels like a natural continuation of the “Gaming sub-theme” that LEGO has embarked on with Nintendo and Atari. Hopefully they will venture into other game companies in the future.
