LEGO Ideas Reveals LEGO Dungeon & Dragons Winner!

LEGO Idea’s made a call for entries in Q3 of last year for a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration with Dungeons and Dragons to celebrate the grand-daddy of table top game’s 50th anniversary.

And after the final round of fan voting, the LEGO’s crowd-sourcing platform has selected a winner and it is Dragon’s Keep: Journey’s End by Boltbuilds!

I think Boltbuilds captured the essence of Dungeons and Dragons with this entry that features a smorgasbord of everything D&D.

It has a host of minifigures that forms your party along with a brick built dragon and township for you to recreate the different scenarios that you could encounter on your daily quests. It even has a beholder for good measure.

According to Boltbuilds, ther landmarks featured are The Witches Tower, The Tavern, The Dungeon, and The Crypt.

I do feel that there is a lot of potential here for the LEGO Designers to knock it out of the park. Although, I would also like that they kept the price point manageable as it is great to release a set to introduce a specific fanbase to LEGO, gatekeeping it behind a ridiculously expensive price is not.

No word on when this will be released but it would most likely be later this year just in time for the 50th anniversary of Dungeons and Dragons in 2024.
