LEGO achieved moderate success with the LEGO Art theme as it was an alternate way to explore intellectual properties that would not traditionally be made into a LEGO set.
This year saw two LEGO Art mosaics hit the shelves in the form of LEGO Art Elvis (31204) and LEGO Art Jim Lee Batman Collection (31205).
There will be two more LEGO Art sets releasing later this year seeing LEGO collaborate with English Rock Band, The Rolling Stones as well as the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
From what we gathered, it should be a traditional mosaic on a 48×48 canvas. The set should most likely yield an image of the band as well as their iconic logo which incidentally has already seen one fan designer submit their creation to rebrickable.
According to Brick Clicker, the set should retail for USD149.99 and contain 1998 pcs.
The collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) is might not be a mosaic as the price point reported is a lot lower than the usual LEGO Art Mosaic.
At USD$79.99, it would suggest that it could be a traditional build rather than a mosaic although the piece count clocks in at 2870 pcs.
It is still anyone’s guess as to what the final product might yield but it would have been interesting to be able to re-create some of MoMa’s most famous paintings like Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh or the Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dalí in mosaic form.
The two LEGO Art mosaics will be available on June 1st at all LEGO Brand and Certified Stores.

It should be Starry nights, it has been approved on Lego Ideas already and it should be the next one to be released. But the set number doesn’t match with the Lego ideas ones
