Over at the LEGO VIP rewards center for the United Kingdom, there is a survey that posits a couple of subscription programs that would allow LEGO fans to have access to sets that have retired amongst other things.
The survey introduces two potential programs that would allow you to:
The first subscription also has the added feature of tracking your collection digitally like through Brickset and also suggests that they could launch a LEGO wallet where you can park your funds to make LEGO purchases.
The other subscription will grant access to master classes from “leading LEGO experts” where you can learn tips and tricks from the community.
It does feel like LEGO is trying very hard to replicate the things that the AFOL community already provides and just consolidating them all under one umbrella which might not necessarily be a good thing.
It seems that this survey is location locked to the United Kingdom as it doesn’t seem to appear in the reward centers of other regions at the moment (they may roll it out later).
This would be a pretty interesting program that caters specifically to the more ardent LEGO fan but it also illustrates the divide that is prevalent in the fan community as pretty much most of Asia and South East Asia still have no access to the LEGO VIP program.
Until they figure out how to get the LEGO VIP program to everyone, it is hard to get excited about something when you know that there is a large chunk of the community who will not get to enjoy it.

I would love to be able to buy older retired sets again. Even if they were in a reprinted box, so they couldn’t be sold as an old set to protect collectors.
Do to hardship there were series I never was able to finish that I would love to have official sets in my collection.
I have all my lego from when I was a kid and the sets they came from. So my list would be interesting for them to know about.
