Will Star Wars Visions Pave The Way For A LEGO Star Wars Minifigure Series?

The trailer for the Star War’s first official foray into the world of anime dropped not too long ago and it completely reimagines everything that we know and have come to love about a galaxy far far away.

I’m super stoked for the animated anthology as it technically falls outside of Star Wars canon, there really is no limit as to where you can go with the stories. This is essentially the What If..? of Star Wars.

There are a total of nine episodes and they managed to get quite a star studded voice cast for the English dub:

  • “The Duel”: Brian Tee (Ronin), Lucy Liu (Bandit Leader), Jaden Waldman (Village Chief)
  • “Tatooine Rhapsody”: Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Jay), Bobby Moynihan (Geezer), Temuera Morrison (BobaFett), Shelby Young (K-344), Marc Thompson (Lan)
  • “The Twins”: Neil Patrick Harris (Karre), Alison Brie (Am), Jonathan Lipow (B-20N)
  • “The Village Bride”: Karen Fukuhara (F), Nichole Sakura (Haru), Christopher Sean (Asu), Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Valco), Andrew Kishino (Izuma), Stephanie Sheh (Saku)
  • “The Ninth Jedi”: Kimiko Glenn (Kara), Andrew Kishino (Juro), Simu Liu (Zhima), Masi Oka (Ethan), Greg Chun (Roden), Neil Kaplan (Narrator), Michael Sinterniklaas (Hen Jin),
  • “T0-B1”: Jaden Waldman (T0-B1), Kyle Chandler (Mitaka)
  • “The Elder”: David Harbour (Tajin), Jordan Fisher (Dan), James Hong (The Elder)
  • “Lop & Ocho”: Anna Cathcart (Lop), Hiromi Dames (Ocho), Paul Nakauchi (Yasaburo), Kyle McCarley (Imperial Officer)
  • “Akakiri”: Henry Golding (Tsubaki), Jamie Chung (Misa), George Takei (Senshuu), Keone Young (Kamahachi), Lorraine Toussaint (Masago)

There are some really epic scenes in the trailer and as I would imagine, a cool character mix of Jedis, Siths and Stormtroopers. And that got me thinking, how far fetch would it be to have the first ever LEGO Star Wars Minifigure Series based off the stuff on Disney+?

LEGO launched their first ever LEGO Marvel CMF based on the different television series streaming on the streaming channel right now. It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch if Star Wars got a similar treatment.

The characters are not part of the continuity so producing LEGO minifigures based on them wouldn’t dilute the main core of Star Wars merchandise. Not to mention that LEGO Marvel minifigures is poised to be quite a hit from the initial reactions.

Do let me know what you all think? From the looks of it, there are a couple of vehicles that I would love to have in LEGO form as well and I’m confident that both Disney and LEGO would like a slice of that lucrative merchandise pie.
