I always look forward to checking out everyone’s LEGO builds for Lunar New Year and just yesterday Hong Kong’s LEGO Certified Professional Andy Hung has unveiled his sculpture for 2021.
In collaboration with the Peninsular Hotel, Andy Hung and his team constructed this 30,000 brick LEGO Ox for new year festivities.
It measures 140cm from snout to tail and stands at a height of 96cm and it was inspired by the “Charging Bull” statue of Wall Street that stands on Broadway.
“It symbolizes strength, strength and bullishness” ~ Andy Hung
Before he became a LEGO Certified Professional, Andy actually worked as a stockbroker for 14 years and was working the floor of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong so this build has special meaning for him.
The LEGO Charging Bull is on display at The Verandah, which is located on the first floor of the Peninsula Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.
Andy also built a wall mosaic to complement the sculpture with a golden “Fu” character adorned with pink carnations (I could be wrong with the flowers).
For those who are lucky enough to be in Hong Kong at the moment, do drop by and check it out for those of us who are unable to see it. Take lots of pictures!
