LEGO Star Wars Death Star With 11,000 Pieces Rumoured for 2021

There is a huge rumour from a galaxy far far away that LEGO will be releasing an 11,000 piece LEGO Star Wars Death Star some time this year.

Little is known of which Death Star will be featured as it could be either the Death Star II from Return of the Jedi or the original Death Star from A New Hope.

The last Ultimate Collectors Series (UCS) LEGO Star Wars Death Star (75159) has already retired so there is a possibility that LEGO wants to continue the chain of having the first Death Star always on the shelves.

Or it could very well be an attempt to update the LEGO Star Wars Death Star II (10143) with more play features as the one released in 2005 was only a display model. I’m not sure what else they could include besides the duel in Emperor Palpatine’s throne room.

Going by the rumoured piece count, my guess is another revamp of the original Death Star although I have to admit that 11,000 pieces is 7,000 pieces more than the last LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star and I’m scratching my head as to what they might include.

It is highly likely that we are getting another LEGO Death Star just that I’m feeling that the 11K piece count may be attached to another upcoming set. The rumoured recommended retail price is said to be $799.99.

Either way, this is pure speculation so take it with a bucket of salt till LEGO officially announces this. It may just turn out to be an 11K piece hanger bay 327. In the meantime, watch this space!

Huh? Your math doesn’t make any sense. Typo? There’s been no 9000 piece death star. Super excited about this rumor though!

Oh dear. You’re right! I was thinking about comparing it to the Millennium Falcon when I wrote that but switched the comparison to the previous Death Star and forgot to change the piece count. Thanks for the heads up!
