This was teased for about a month now and LEGO’s online store, Shop@Home has updated with the first images for this year’s May the 4th Celebration gift with purchase.
LEGO Star Wars Death Star Battle II (40407) set is designed in the same vein and scale as the LEGO Battle of Hoth and Battle of Endor.
It features a scene from the film, Return of the Jedi, where the rebels are making an attack on the Death Star II after the rebels destroyed the shield generator.
It consists of 235pcs which will build a microscale A-wing and TIE-Interceptor along with a portion of the Death Star II’s surface.
I’m still a bit disappointed that they did not choose the Trench Run on the original Death Star as that would be a much more iconic scene to immortalise.
I figure that they would want to have a scene with an A-wing to tie-in with the LEGO Star Wars UCS A-Wing (75275) set launching next month although the most memorable scene for me involving an A-wing would be when one took out the bridge of the Super Star Destroyer.
But of course LEGO can’t commission a set based on THAT.
The LEGO Star Wars Death Star Battle II (40407) will be available on May 1st when you spend a minimum of USD$75 / €75 on any LEGO Star Wars products, while stocks last.
