After the initial leaked box image a few hours ago, LEGO has officially announced the highly anticipated LEGO Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay (21322)!
It was based off the LEGO Ideas project “The Pirate Bay” by Bricky_Brick. It quickly garnered 10,000 votes on LEGO’s crowdsourcing platform once it was submitted and now it is an actual set released by LEGO!
I’m really happy that they kept with the old school packaging design for the this set as it also celebrates the roots in which this set drew its inspiration from.
LEGO® Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay (21322) will consist of 2,545 pcs making it the second largest LEGO Ideas set ever released.
It will come with eight classic pirate minifigures and will have a retail price of US $199.99 / CA $259.99 / DE €199.99 / UK £179.99 / FR €199.99 / DK 1599.0DKK / $299.99 AUD.
One thing I really love about the design is that they made it possible to reassemble the three sections of the ship to combine and make a complete Barracuda.
There are plenty of other features to explore in this model and it also fits in perfectly into your existing pirate diorama.
To be honest, the level of interest for this set has been overwhelming which should signify to LEGO that there is still a very healthy LEGO pirate fanbase.
I’ll definitely be in line on day one to pick this up on April 1st!
