Leandro Tayag started his LEGO Ideas Voltron (21311) signing tour in Shanghai last month and now he has stopped by Singapore for the second stop on his Asia junket.
The event was held at The Brick Shop LEGO Certified Store at the NEX Shopping Mall where customers who bought the LEGO Ideas Voltron (21311) set on launch day were given an exclusive chance to meet the fan designer and get his autograph.
The queue for the signing snaked across the side of the store and had to double back to the front because there were just too many people waiting for their chance to talk to the person behind LEGO Idea’s largest set to date.
LEGO Ideas Voltron (21311) has set a lot of records in the history of LEGO as this is the first ever set designed by a Filipino and it is also the largest LEGO Ideas set to date. This is also the largest Mech (large robot) that LEGO has ever produced in terms of part count and size.
I also managed to catch up with Lendy and have a quick chat about the design process of his LEGO Ideas project and how it was like working with the LEGO Designers half way across the globe. I apologise in advance for the audio as it was really noisy in the store.
Thanks again Lendy for taking the time to give this insightful interview and it was really nice to see you again in Singapore! Have fun in Malaysia!
Update: Lendy will be back in Singapore for the Singapore Toys Games Comics Convention on the 8th – 9th of September 2018! He will also be in Manila for a signing session in September as well.
See you again soon Lendy!
(Special thanks to The Brick Shop and LEGO Singapore for making this happen!)
