Build This Lovely LEGO Rose In Time For Valentines Day

Chakhei Mok LEGO rose

I first saw Chakhei Mok’s LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle (21313) mod where he used the bottle portion as bell jar for his LEGO flower.

And today he has so generously shared with the LEGO community on how to build that exact same rose!

It uses a lot of the new (relatively) 2×2 wedge plate Left: (24299) and Right: (24307) for the petals but the rest of the flower doesn’t require too many hard to find parts.

The dark azure wedge plate that he uses for his flower first debut in the LEGO Star Wars Encounter on Jakku (75148) but if you are finding it hard to track down, it is also available (both left and right) in other colours like Red and Yellow.

The central base utilises the Octagonal Bar Frame (75937) and clips to hold the petals together while the center bulb uses the 1×1 brick with studs on all sides (4733).

It then attaches itself to the stem with the use of the 1×1 round bricks and a 4L bar to connect them together.

The flower base can be connected to the bottom of the bell jar which should provide sufficient support for the rose to stand upright.

Here is the ‘approximate’ parts list for the flower portion:

  • 2×2 wedge plate Left: (24299) x28
  • 2×2 wedge plate Right: (24307) x32
  • 1×1 brick with studs on 4 sides – white (4733) x2
  • 1×1 round with open stud – white (85861) x9
  • Octagonal Bar Frame – white (75937) x1
  • 1 x 1 Plate with Horizontal Clip (61252) x8 (these should be the same colour as your petals)
  • 1×1 round brick – lime green (3062b) x11
  • 4L bar – black (30374) x3
  • Plant Leaves 4 x 3 – lime green (2423) x2
  • Cone 3x3x2 – reddish brown (6233)

This is just the rough estimate of parts. I may have missed an element or two so do forgive me!

Thanks again to Chakhei Mok for making this elegant rose just in time for Valentine’s day! Check out his flickr page here.
