The LEGO server just updated with the instructions to the LEGO Year of the Dog (40235) which gives us an official first look at the upcoming gift with purchase.
Since 2015, LEGO has been releasing these commemorative sets to celebrate the the Lunar New Year holidays. There was one creator 4-in-1 Year of the Snake set in 2013 but it doesn’t follow the style and packaging of this series.
The set consists of 157 pieces which is just one element more than 2016’s Year of the Rooster (40234) set. These seasonal exclusives are devoid of stickers so if you had the parts, you could actually build one yourself.
It seems that they have also standardised the baseplate that the animal is placed on since the Year of the Monkey (40233) set.
No doubt this will be widely available across Asia once the Lunar New Year rolls around as a gift with purchase (GWP). Watch this space for more details!
