We had an exclusive sneak peek at the first ever LEGO VR Roller Coaster in the world which is now fully operational at LEGOLAND Malaysia!
The grand opening marks the culmination of two years of hard work and planning to retrofit the existing Technic Coaster ride to incorporate the new Virtual Reality equipment.
How this works is that each passenger is given a Samsung VR headset that will project a virtual world in sync with the movements experienced on the physical roller coaster.
What I didn’t experience on the Hard Hat tour as it was not ready then was the decorations for entrance and waiting area so it was really nice to see it all pristine and completed.
It is a pretty cool idea which actually increases the replayability of an existing roller coaster especially when the Virtual Reality content can be swapped out from time to time to introduce a brand new virtual world for the visitors to enjoy.
The ride is pretty fun but I would advise that anyone who suffers from motion sickness to take fair warning as it might be a bit disorienting when the motion of the VR de-syncs with the forward movement of the car.
Having said that, this is definitely one of the more interesting rides that you can experience at LEGOLAND Malaysia and with the SEA Life attraction opening next year, this theme park is further solidifying itself to be a great weekend getaway for the kids.
