LEGO D2C VIP Set (40178) Found in Shanghai

Looks like LEGO is coming to China in a big way as the first LEGO D2C VIP Set (40178) has just started retailing at the Shanghai LEGO Brand Store.

The set contains 223 pcs with two minifigures, one LEGO Store employee and a completely red one which should start you off on your monochrome minifigure collection.

It features a truncated version of a LEGO Brand Store with a PAB (Pick-A-Brick) wall and the usual sets along the brand ribbon with Brickley the LEGO dragon peeking out from around the wall.

The set also includes a brick-built LEGO VIP card which is what the monochrome red minifigure is for. The LEGO Store employee looks like the same one from the LEGO Store Employee (5001622) polybag that was released some time back.

The LEGO D2C VIP Set can be redeemed when you spend a minimum of RMB¥399 (SGD$81 / £46 / USD$59 / €52) on LEGO products at the LEGO Brand Store in Shanghai, China.

There is no word yet on the release of this awesome gift with purchase or whether this will slowly make it’s way around the world but from the looks of it, South East Asia markets should not be getting this as we only have LEGO Certified Stores here.
