The LEGO Certified Store in Hong Kong is giving away something special for fans of Space and all things NASA in the form of an instruction booklet for five Space-themed mini-builds!
The deal is that you get this Space Odyssey LEGO Instruction Booklet for free when you purchase the LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) set which is a very thoughtful compendium.
Hong Kong LUG collaborated with LEGO Hong Kong to produce this lovely gift-with-purchase. What is really interesting is that these builds uses only elements from the store’s Pick-A-Brick Wall so you could easily just get the pieces you need.
Hong Kong LUG member David Liu designed the Astronaut (74 pcs) whose head and arms can swivel.
The Space Shuttle (111 pcs) is designed by Tsang Yiu Keung which actually has one version with the bay doors open and another when it is closed.
Bob Chai chimes in with not one but two designs the Space Rover (109 pcs) and Blue Planet (117 pcs). The Space Rover looks to be minifigure scale and fits two minifigures in the front seats.
The Blue Plant is really cute with the micro-scale space shuttle and satellite orbiting “Earth”.
The Hubble Telescope is designed by Lysander Chau which is the largest build out of the lot. It still manages to preserve the likeness of original given the limitation of the parts.
I think these are a great way for the regional LEGO offices to engage the AFOL community in a collaboration that benefits both sides. Hopefully we see more of these in the future. The booklet is still available at the LEGO Certified Store in Hong Kong while stocks last.
Great job Hong Kong LUG!
