LEGO Year Of The Rooster Set First Look

The Lunar New Year is a few months away but thanks to the China LUG, we have a first look at next 2017’s exclusive Year of the Rooster set!

The in-store magazine for Asia’s first (and only) LEGO Brand Retail flagship store in Shanghai featured a redemption coupon which you can redeem a free Year of the Rooster set if you are born in a previous Year of the Rooster (ie. 2005, 1993, 1981, 1969 etc).

I’m sure that there will be a separate gift-with-purchase promotion that will allow those not born in a year of the rooster to obtain one which was the case previously.

Update: Managed to get a clearer image of the Year of the Rooster build in the latest Christmas video for the Build Your LEGO Christmas event.

This series started two years ago with the exclusive Year of the Sheep (2015) set and was followed by the Year of the Monkey (2016).

If this series is followed to completion, we should see 12 different sets over the course of 12 years depicting all the animals of the Chinese Zodiac.

There was a special Year of the Snake (10250) set in 2013 but it is separate from this series. It came out in 2013 and was designed to be like the Creator 3-in-1 sets.
